The Public Affairs Unit (PAU) provides the stakeholders with accurate, adequate, and timely information and strengthens linkages with all stakeholders towards enhanced awareness and perception of the Region and of the Department.


SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

  1. Implement the national communications framework developed at the national level
  2. Manage communication protocols at the RO and SDOs
  3. Implement standards on issuances of print and non-print materials
  4. Relay received information/ issues and concerns affecting the Region to proper office/s or authorities for information/action
  5. Provide appropriate technical assistance (e.g., communication plan development, development of print and non-print materials)
  6. Conduct media and public relations events
  7. Act as spokesperson /representative of the RD and ARD
  8. Strengthen partnership with various media and stakeholders
  9. Prepare information materials (messages, speeches, talking points, consolidated data) needed for RD’s interview, press conferences/media briefings, and other Public Relations (PR) engagements
  10. Provide assistance on crisis management
  11. Monitor and evaluate level of satisfaction of stakeholders on service rendered
  12. Establish and maintain systems and processes geared towards administrative effectiveness and efficiency
  13. Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration
  14. Conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation of office/staff performance for the provision of relevant learning and development programs
